Rematch

So, we won that game....we need a rematch!!!!

Again the boys did what they do (in fine fashion I might say), and again I do what I do. If only there were medals for this.......

Games on all day at the shop, Red Bench Diner for Silver(shit!!!) in woman's curling, Chels and Trevs for the big hockey game (Yeah dudes!!!!) then the Griz (????WTF?????never a good idea!!!!) then a bike ride home in the rain @ 1AM.

Killer action on all fronts.

Mens Curling Gold tomorrow and then Hockey gold on Sunday.

Olympics rock!!!!!!!!

Hang overs suck......just saying......wild guess......

Hockey on the mind.

After the game on Sunday I realized it was rather important to me that we as Canadians win this medal. More than any other sport hockey is undeniably THE sport that brings Canadians young and old, as well as born and bread and new Canadians together. Dominance in curling, free style skiing and the like hold only a fraction of the weight that hockey brings. I am enjoying the stress and emotion that the whole country feels when these guys get out there and do what they do on behalf of those of us that can’t.

You know what I am good at ? Like any good Canadian “Drinking beer and watching hockey” does appear on my Skillz list! So tonight while those guys do what they do I did what I do…….and even stuck around for some ladies dancing on ice…..is NIIIICE !!!!!

Bring on Russia!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yet another great day for a bike ride.

Well to be honest, I do think most days are great for a bike riding but this sunny Feb day was irresistible. It was one of my last Mondays off so I spent as much of it as I could pedaling. Here are some shots from a day spent pedaling with friends.

Tomorrow.......trail riding !!!!!
Stay tuned.

journey to the heart of the games

During the Olympic games so far I have been watching from a distance and enjoying what I was seeing. Today I decided to get a closer look. Jada, Chelsea, Trevor, Beth and I headed in to Vancouver and connected with Chris....then game on! Huge game today between Canada and USA. (if you have to ask what sport well you're not from around here are ya?) The venue was the Vogue Theater. 40ft HD screen and a full house. The vibe was unreal and the game was a heart breaker. We wondered the streets for a while after the game and everyone was still having a good time. Very impressed by the whole experience and may soon have to stop being such a recluse, perhaps leaving Brackendale a little more frequently....perhaps.

Forgot to mention it was a really really nice day 13C and sunny, winter huh???

Go to downtown Vancouver and check out the action. Love or hate VANOC, it is so cool what is happening down there.

Hula dancers ???? Anyways.........until next time!

Go Canada!!!!

We should always be this stoked for our athletes!!!!!!!

Feb 14 2010

Woke up to a very rainy morning........but the weather cleared for us to do one of our favorite hikes. Much of the main trail was more of a creek than a trail so we took a short cut up a under used mountain bike trail. (White Bronco for those of you that are interested) Strange to have to use my hands to pull yourself up something I have ridden down!!!! Lunch and dancing at the top. Good times.

Not a bad spot, not a bad day.
